Roasted garlic mushrooms is a quick side dishes packed with rich umami flavor. Tender mushrooms are tossed with garlic, olive oil, herbs, and seasoning, then roasted until beautifully caramelized and juicy. They pair perfectly with grilled meat, pasta, rice, sandwiches, or even toasted sourdough.

This easy mushroom recipe requires very little prep and creates rich, restaurant-quality flavor using simple everyday ingredients.

What Makes Roasting Mushrooms So Good?
Mushrooms naturally hold a high amount of moisture. Roasting them at high heat allows that moisture to evaporate, intensifying their earthy flavor while creating beautifully crisp, golden edges.
As the garlic and herbs roast together, they infuse the mushrooms with a rich, buttery, savory coating. Many home cooks and food bloggers favor roasting because it delivers deeper umami flavor and a more satisfying texture than other cooking methods.

Ingredients You Need
- Cremini mushrooms or button mushrooms - Cremini mushrooms have a deeper flavor than white button mushrooms, but both work beautifully.
- Fresh garlic cloves - It is essential here. As garlic roasts, it becomes mellow, sweet, and incredibly aromatic.
- Olive oil and cubes of butter
- Fresh herbs ( I used rosemary and sage)
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Slices of Lemon
If you like spicy food, you can add chili flakes too. Make it extra special pouring some white wine in it if you like.
How to make this Roasted Garlic Mushroom

- Clean the mushroom with a kitchen towel, do not wash it. If you have to wash it, then just scrub it gently with a wet kitchen towel. The mushroom will not brown nicely if it's wet. In an ovenproof dish, layer the whole mushroom, along with the sliced stems of the mushroom.
- Add thinly sliced garlic cloves, butter knobs here and there, sliced lemon juice and fresh herbs (rosemary and sage). Season with salt and pepper.
- Air fry it at 450F for 20 minutes, tossing it once in between.
- Sprinkle chili flakes and enjoy it warm.
Variations To Try
Garlic Butter Mushrooms - Swap olive oil with melted butter for richer flavor.
Spicy Roasted Mushrooms - Add chili flakes or smoked paprika.
Parmesan Garlic Mushrooms - Sprinkle grated Parmesan during the final 5 minutes of roasting.
Herb Roasted Mushrooms - Use rosemary, thyme, oregano, or sage.
The broth that gets created from roasting mushroom with butter and lemon is so flavorful that I always munch more bread in the process. It’s amazing how with such minimal effort and ingredients you can come up with robust taste.
What To Serve With Roasted Garlic Mushrooms

Just found your site from foodgawker, not just because your photo was awesome and mouthwatering, but because I love mushrooms and I love ease. I thought it was soup and think I love it more because it's not. Just thinking, however, do you think with a splash of stock, it might just qualify as soup too?

I guess so 🙂 Give it a try and let me know!
