    Avyan turned ONE!

April 1, 2015 by Kankana Saxena

The year of his firsts and the year of our firsts, as parents. The year of lot of learning’s, making memories every minute, always keeping our camera charged, the year of less wine and more of laundry. Perhaps, one of the most exciting years of our life and couple of weeks back, our little fella relished his first cake. At first, he wasn’t sure what to do with the cake. He never jumps at unfamiliar objects. He kept gazing at it for a while, ultimately touched it with just one finger and then, the fun started.

Avyan is a curious little fella, wants to touch everything but is also quite careful. He is quiet, a little shy and takes time to mingle but hyperactive all the time! He loves music and dances at the Afro Circus song, Minion’s Banana song and a lot of Bollywood numbers. He enjoys massages, bath time and tickles. A lot of peek-a-boo and clap-clap is happening these days. So far, our little boy has flown in five flights and had an adventurous 8 days of road trip. He loves going out.

We don’t have any nanny or baby-sitter. It’s just Mummy and her munchkin all day long, until Papa returns from work. Watching him grow and touch those milestones is the best part of this job. Don’t ask me to pick a favorite moment, cause I love them all. The first time I held him (the thought gets me teary even today), his first smile, his first bath (and how much he hated it), his biggest burp that scared the hell out of his Papa and the first time he kissed me (more like drool facial).

There are days when I do wish he would grow fast but then I also know when that happens, he wouldn’t look for Mummy as much. So, I am trying not to get frustrated and instead, embrace these moments as much as possible.
