Our life keyed into a new chapter. It came with tons of joy, loads of diapers, shabby clothes, and not to forget, the sleepless nights. Our boy, Avyan (meaning: one who has no imperfection) arrived on March 19th, finally ending the long anticipation and promoting us to parenthood. I still choke up thinking about that moment. We never felt so much happiness before. Words could barely describe it. We cried and laughed at the same time; a moment I had imagined all through the nine months. It was much more precious!
Ever since then, each day has turned into a learning session for us. I am learning to be patient, a quality I was not born with. I say to myself all the time “babies cry, deal with it”. I am learning to take power naps; sometimes even 15 minutes on the couch helps. And no matter how much we plan, it’s always ‘their way or the highway’. Parenthood is hard but it comes with so much bliss at the same time. Some days are smooth; so much so that we get time to cook a fancy meal, read a book and even watch a movie. And some days, I just want to bang my head but then as soon as I hold him tight, I forget and melt instantly. When he is asleep, I want to wake him up. And when he is up, I want to put him back to sleep. I love it when he smiles in his sleep and when he turns his head as I walk by. I doubt if he can still focus but that eye contact is my favorite moment and I would sacrifice my sleep any day over it.
Cooking and food photography has taken a back seat and it would take me a while to get back with a recipe. Until then, I have a much cuter subject to photo-shoot. Here are some of the snapshots from my baby bump days and my baby boy, Avyan. He a month old already. Time flies!
