Orange Tofu is a crispy, zesty, better-than-takeout plant-based favorite! If you love bold, citrusy flavors with a satisfying crunch, orange tofu made with air-fried tofu is going to be your new go-to. This recipe is ideal for weeknight dinners, meal prep, or even entertaining guests who might not typically go for tofu. It is simple, flavorful, and incredibly versatile.

    Orange Tofu

This dish brings together golden, crispy tofu cubes coated in a glossy, tangy orange sauce that hits the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and slightly spicy. The best part, you get that deep-fried texture without the excess oil, thanks to the air fryer.

Why You’ll Love This Orange Tofu Recipe

    • Crispy without deep frying
    • Packed with bright citrus flavor
    • Quick and easy, under 30 minutes
    • Completely vegan and customizable
    • Perfect for meal prep

    • Sesame oil
    • Mirin
    • Soy Sauce
    • Ponzu Sauce (optional)
    • Corn flour

    For the Orange Sauce

    • Orange zest and juice
    • Soy Sauce
    • Brown sugar (you can substitute with your choice of sweetner)
    • Ponzu sauce
    • Sesame seeds
    • Corn flour

Other ingredients you need - Finely chopped garlic and green onion.

    Steps to prepare Orange Tofu

    Steps to prepare

1- Cut the tofu into bite size and place it in a mixing bowl along with all the ingredients for the marinade along with corn flour. Give it a mix.

2-Layer in on an oevn proof tray and air fry or bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Remember to flip once in between.

3- Prepare the sauce by mixing all the ingrients. Keep in mind that depending on how sweet the oranges are, you might have to add more or less sweetner.

    Steps to prepare

4 - To a hot pan pour oil along with garlic and green onions. Stir it around and cook for 2 minutes.

5 - Pour the sauce and let it cook for 5 minutes. Taste for sweetner and salt, add more if needed. The sauce can be prepared in advance and kept in the fridge to be used few days later.

Garnish with sesame seeds and enjoy with rice or noodles. Or even in lettuce wrap.
