Black and White Wednesday - 10th August 2011

August 10, 2011 by Kankana Saxena

This is my submission for the Black and White Wednesday - 10th of August 2011. Please find my other posts in this series over here.

"Some people like to paint pictures, or do gardening, or build a boat in the basement. Other people get a tremendous pleasure out of the kitchen, because cooking is just as creative and imaginative an activity as drawing, or wood carving, or music."

    -- Julia Child

"Eating is really one of your indoor sports. You play three times a day, and it's well worth while to make the game as pleasant as possible."

    -- Dorothy Draper

I'm so inspired after seeing so many B&W around the blogs. Loved your first one, very creative! How did you get that black background... is it black foam board?

Thanks so much 🙂 I use a black board for the background, which I usually pull out from my book shelf. I diffuse the entry light and reduce the exposure of the camera a lot too. I use picasa for post processing where I boost it (just a lil) 🙂

From next time I will save the camera configuration and share it in the post. Hope this helps!

I especially like the first one. The dark tones and the reflection of the light on the cutlery is interesting.
