Ingredients you need for White Beans on Toast
Canned White Beans - You can use your choice of dried peas or peas, but I personally love white beans. Using canned beans just makes the process faster.
Garlic - Garlic and beans goes hand in hand. It only adds flavor ad taste but also helps to digest beans for people who find it difficult.
Sweet mini pepper - You can use big bell peppers too. I used the small variety, only because I had some left in the fridge. Also, the mini ones add a mild sweetness that goes very well with beans.
Pesto - Adding pesto is totally optional. I like the flavor it adds. Here is my homemade pesto recipe that I make with any greens I can find. You can however skip pesto and add chili oil.
Chili Flakes - If you are using chili oil, then you definitely don't need chili flakes. Since I added pesto, I added a little bit of chili flakes for flavor and subtle heat.
As you can see, the dish doesn't call for a lot of ingredients but is packed with flavor and tastes amazing on toast.
