Aloo Palak Paratha is a carb in carb comfort food with a good dose of fresh spinach in between. Aloo Paratha is a popular Indian stuffed bread recipe that is prepared with whole wheat. I like to add some greens to it, sometimes kale and sometimes spinach. Often served with yogurt on the side, a dollop of butter and some pickle, Aloo Paratha makes for a great meal. It is also sometimes served as weekend breakfast with a cup of piping hot masala chai.

I am keeping it cozy and simple with this Chicken Artichoke Spinach Creamy Skillet! A quick sizzle, a little sauté and this one pan meal comes together effortlessly. Fresh spinach, artichoke hearts and perfectly browned chicken thighs with some mild spices, blended together beautifully with a little cream. Pair this chicken creamy skillet with crusty bread to soak up all that creamy gravy, or go low carb and use cauliflower rice.
I have lived in South India for so many years and yet, I never heard of the dish called Pesarattu. When a friend suggested me the dish a few months back, I was surprised at how quick and simple it is to prepare this crepe like dish. I didn’t have to worry about fermenting and yet, I could enjoy something similar to dosa in a fuss free manner. Ever since then, I make it very often and my preferred version is the Palak Pesarattu | Spinach Mung Bean Crepe. It’s nourishing, filling and the color is strikingly gorgeous green. With…
Shakshuka is a one-pot Middle Eastern flavor packed baked egg dish that is usually served for breakfast with pita on the side. It’s a very comforting meal and a favorite to all egg lovers. As much as I relish the original authentic version of the dish, I occasionally like to add a fun little twist. A few days’ back, I made it with Indian spices and threw in some baby spinach too. This Indian Spiced Spinach Shakshuka has an intense depth of flavor and spinach adds an interesting texture to the whole dish.
Daal is an essential part of the Indian meal. It helps you balance your diet along with rice as well as sabzi (vegetable stir fry) or curry. The pulses can be cooked with different vegetables, spices or herbs to form either a thick stew or a thin soup-like consistency. It’s our comfort food and there are probably a thousand different ways in which you can make a delicious bowl of daal. This Masoor Palak Daal (Red Lentil Spinach Stew) is a hearty, nutritional lentil stew. Squeeze some fresh lemon juice on the top, pair it with cooked rice, thinly slice…
As I was glancing through Chef Todiwala’s Spice Box cookbook, this recipe of potato, nut and paneer croquettes in spinach sauce caught my eye. It looked so good that I had to add that to my list. Now, I am not very good at following recipes to the point, so I gave my own little changes and made this Chenna Kaju Palak (Fresh Cheese Dumplings In Cashew And Spinach). The cheese dumplings were pillowy and the soft cashew and spinach sauce is a keeper.
Soft and silky crepes filled with flavor packed mushroom and spinach creamy sauce. It makes for a great breakfast, lunch or dinner. Mushroom And Spinach Crepes is so easy to put together that you can even make it on busy weeknights.
Crusty golden top with creamy paneer, goodness of baby spinach, the sharpness from marinara sauce and those crunchy red onions! With cheese loaded in the center, these palak paneer (spinach cheese) party sliders are a hit. The left over sliders stays good in an airtight container, and after a quick warming in the microwave it gets cheesy and saucy once again.
We all have those weekends when you want to make something that looks fancy and not so ordinary. You want to wow your family but at the same time, you feel just so lazy to stand by the stove for making something fancy. Well, on those days, you can make this Egg and Spinach Baked Avocados. It’s easy, quick and I think it looks mighty lavish!
Three years ago, we had a Friday ritual of pizza, movie and wine. After Avyan arrived in our life, we shifted to another Friday ritual of takeout and movie. Then, it was followed by no dinner ritual because the last two years was a little too crazy. Recently, about a couple of months back, we started another dinner ritual, Sunday Pizza! Of course, the wine and movie happens but only after Avyan snoozes off. This was our last weekend dinner, Spinach Kale Salami Pizza. Avyan is obsessed with pizza. Whenever he sees pizza, he screams pizaaaa with a big smile.…
The scorching heat, the repeated power cuts and to top it all, the toddler tantrums. I am pretty close to going insane! Of late, I have been reading a lot about how to survive these tantrums and they are all good reads but some days, nothing seems to work. As our little love is approaching towards “terrific two” (more like “troublesome two”), I am beginning to wonder what course these tantrums will take and to what level. They are not called pint size dictators for nothing! My only option on these days is to allow him more screen time while…
Folded in quarters and drizzled with the teeniest amount of chocolate sauce, it was served in a paper plate. I nibbled for a while and threw the rest. That was my first experience of sampling crepe. It was in a food court and it was horrible! Few years later, we took a trip to Bangkok. During our stay there, we used to visit one particular shopping mall quite often. The foot court in that mall had a crepe stall that didn’t fascinate me much but it sure did excite Arvind.
