This year, for the first time in a very long time, we are celebrating the festive season in full swing. Avyan is at an age where he can understand these things and he is also thoroughly enjoying it. Yesterday, we had a Diwali Potluck Party at our home and it was a blast. There were a wide variety of delicious treats and I really wish I had taken a photo of the entire spread! My contribution to the spread was Gajar Halwa (Carrot Pudding) and Moong Daal Khasta Kachori (Spiced Mung Bean Stufffed Flaky Dumplings).

Avyan helped me with the layering and he loved it. The little fella is still not into smoothie but he enjoyed the parfait a lot, especially the coconut chia pudding.
What is more tempting than a chocolate pudding? Chili chocolate pudding with grilled peaches! Yes, because it will make your taste buds jolt and then ask for more. Don’t get worried if spice is not your best friend because this is not a spicy treat. At first, you get that luscious chocolate taste and then, the kick from chili hits the back of your tongue. Paired with grilled peaches, whipped cream and chili chocolate sauce, this dessert gets uplifted to a whole new level.
Wish you all a very happy 2016! I hope that your year is filled with love and joy, surprises and success, happiness and laughter. And I hope that you get to fulfill all your dreams and spend everyday with a smile!
If you have been reading my blog for a while now, you might have observed my love for the gourmet store Foodhall. Ever since I found about the store, I have been using their products quite often and even shared few dishes that I prepared exclusively with their stuff. I absolutely love the collection they carry and their service as well. Foodhall provides not just the finest seasonal ingredients; they also have a great collection of gift baskets to fit several occasions, from picnic cheer to variety salts to super foods.
Growing up, I don’t recall any special occasion when rice pudding was not prepared. Be it a birthday, after exam celebrations, any festival or a family get-together, this creamy comfort-in-a-bowl always made an appearance. This ritual is still followed religiously. And I still lick the bowl clean, every single time.
People say my little brother and I look alike. We are not twins, just one year apart. He is taller than me, has a smart brain, doesn’t talk much and at times, he is very shy. Just like other siblings, we had our moments of cheerfulness, enjoyment, roughness and fights. I still remember the time when our youngest uncle was getting married. We cousins were playing around, making noises, dancing to loud music while my brother was helping dad and my other uncles arranging things for the wedding. He was always the more responsible one and now, in less than a…
