I finally started to feel the change in season. The crisp autumn wind is here and so are early morning chills. There are some rare glimpses of autumn shades here and there but mostly, the leaves are changing color from green to brown. Sun's direction has changed and I have shifted my indoor basil plant from its original place to get more sunlight, hoping that it would survive the season.
This summer, probably for the first time, I am missing the Indian Monsoon. The rain, the smell of sand after first rain, getting drenched and especially, eating crispy pakodas with hot masala tea by the window while watching raindrops wash away the heat. It hasn’t rained here for so many months now that I have even forgotten when it rained last. Some days, it gets cloudy in the morning but by the afternoon, it’s a clear cheerful sky. I hate to complain because nothing makes me happier than waking up to a sunny summer morning however, a little shower now and then would…
We are one of those lazy, laid-back couples who like to spend Friday nights at home with something to munch, along with a drink and a movie of our choice. Sitting cozy and casual in our pajamas :) Typically, cooking on a Friday night is not one of my favorite acts but when it comes to making easy, effortless finger food, it's a whole new story. Something like this - stir fried shrimp and lemon aioli sauce.
In my world, if there is one little thing that can bring a smile to anyone's face, it will be homemade cookies. Sometimes with chocolate chips hidden in it and sometimes, without any surprising element. Just plain, buttery and delicious with lots of flavor! I think it helps keeping the child inside us alive and that is why, we all love cookies any time.
My favorite season is finally here with longer daylight, beautiful sunshine and pretty flowers! Now, all I ask from the weatherman is not to predict anymore frequent showers, storm or anything that takes away the Spring. Last week was pretty dull and boring with non-stop rain and cold winds, but what kept me excited was seeing Arvind finalizing the new design for blog. In between all the crazy workload, my sweetheart somehow managed to find time for planning, writing, fixing bugs and creating this new look. I feel SO proud and yes, I know :) I am one lucky girl!
As a kid, one of my hobbies was reading novels and I could keep myself busy the whole day with that. I always enjoyed reading light novels which involves a little romance, a little drama with a little suspense. Back at home, I have a good collection of novels and they are like my assets and I get little possessive about them at times :D With the work load getting on top of my head, this hobby started dying but I still enjoyed buying books. One book that I never thought of buying is Cook Book! It never fascinated…
The only cake I used to bake was chocolate cake and then I got married :) Like most wives I like to cook what my husband likes more and to my surprise he doesn't like chocolate cake although he can eat chocolate the whole day! That's when Lemon Cake was introduced to me and to twist it up I added one more of his favorite .. mint.
