Masala Nimbu Soda (Spiced Lemonade Fizz)

Growing up in Shillong meant no summer vacation and no brutal hot days. Hence, the classic Nimbu Pani (Indian Lemonade) was never that common. However, Mom used to make us a glass after school, more for a medicinal purpose than thirst quencher. It was only during our yearly visits to Kolkata that got me to hooked to this ever so refreshing summer drink. Gulping a couple of glasses from the roadside stall was a mandate every time we stepped out. No ice cream or fresh fruit juice could give that cool feeling.

This Christmas, don’t just serve a bottle of good wine. Instead, make it extra special by adding more flavors. Mulled wine is a perfect cozy drink to warm you up on cold winter nights. Ginger Lemongrass Basil Spritzer

Summer is happening here in full swing. I not only feel it but I can also hear it. The hustle bustle in the neighborhood, pools are never empty, kids running around screaming and playing almost all day long. This unquestionably screams summer vacation. It does get a little too noisy at times but I love the long daylight and even though it feels like the heat can nearly burn the skin, the wind fortunately helps us stay calm in between. We have few things planned out for us this summer but let’s see how far that goes. For now, let’s take out…

I cherish this day, which is celebrated all across the globe where every one is speaking one single language - Love! The…

Pumpkin Spiced Latte

Growing up, I ate a lot of pumpkin curry - sometimes non-vegetarian and sometimes pure vegetarian. Mom would always keep a little extra curry for me knowing that it’s my favorite vegetable and she still does the same. There is something about that dark orange shade; the sweetness and the creamy texture that makes me go for it as soon as my eyes fall on it. Whether you make something savory or sweet, blend it to make a soup or roast it, pumpkin is always very comforting and perfect to warm you up when the weather gets chilly outside.

Raspberry Lemon Iced Tea

This summer, probably for the first time, I am missing the Indian Monsoon. The rain, the smell of sand after first rain, getting drenched and especially, eating crispy pakodas with hot masala tea by the window while watching raindrops wash away the heat. It hasn’t rained here for so many months now that I have even forgotten when it rained last. Some days, it gets cloudy in the morning but by the afternoon, it’s a clear cheerful sky.  I hate to complain because nothing makes me happier than waking up to a sunny summer morning however, a little shower now and then would…
