Happy Thanksgiving my friend and I hope you are having loads of fun with your friends and families.
I would be lying if I say blogging is not on my mind! At times, I wish to click some of the curries and sweets that I’ve been eating but then, it’s a vacation and eating cold food for the sake of good photography is the last thing that I should do. So, I am taking all kinds of notes and hope that maybe some day, I could share these dishes with you.
Until then, let’s enjoy these cookies that my lovely friend Sonia @ My Creative Flavor has shared with us today.
Sonia’s blog is filled with different flavors that she creatively adds to her dishes. She is a vegetarian and loves to share healthy and nutritious recipes and at times, kids food as well. She is a busy Mom of a lovely son and I cannot thank her enough for taking some time out for me. These cookies not only look perfectly shaped but they are also healthy. Thanks for all the kisses 🙂

1. Tell us a little about you and your family ?
3. How is the experience of blogging been so far ?
– Food blogging for me has been a great way to learn & make friends. I don’t claim to be a super chef or an expert photographer. I make things as would like to serve & photograph them as I would like to see them. I have made some great friends in the process. In nutshell “So Far , So Good”
I don’t exactly remember how I came to know Kankana, Perhaps I participated in her Blog Hop once, what I remember is that we resonated & I’m sure I have found a friend for life. She’s a lovely person & a masterful food blogger. Doing a post for her is a pleasure, not sure if I will be able do justice, but I’ll try to… Healthy Oatmeal Cookies is the our recipe for the day, inspired by Martha Stewart & re-mixed to suit the palette of my boys who love anything Hershey’s Kisses.
Hershey’s Kisses, you love them or you hate them – I bet you cant resist’em. We were in Hershey’s Chocolate World in Pennsylvania a few months back & my son brought back bags full. We packed on the line , made our own bars in the factory & loved the every bit of Hershey’s story.
Ingredients : (Makes 18-20 cookies)
- 1/2 cup whole-wheat flour
- 1/2 cup APF
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup rolled oats (not quick-cooking)
- Handful of dried golden raisins
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium bowl, whisk together flours and baking powder; set aside. In a large bowl, whisk together oil, sugar, egg, and vanilla. Add flour mixture, and stir to combine; mix in oats and raisins. Using two tablespoons of dough per cookie, roll into balls. Place on two baking sheets lined with parchment paper, 1 1/2 inches apart. Gently press using a spoon to flatten the dough a bit. Bake until lightly browned, 15 to 17 minutes approx. Once done, as you take these out, quickly press a Hershey’s kiss into the middle of each cookie. The trick is to make sure you have 18-20 kisses pealed & ready to go.
